RIOPY takes a further step into the realm of wellness sounds with “Sleep Meditations”, the latest project from his wellness initiative TUNE YOUR MIND [by RIOPY]. “Sleep Meditations” is offered as a tool to develop healthy sleep habits in the New Year, whilst further leading into World Sleep Day in March 2025.

This four-track project serves as a restorative guide through the four key stages of sleep: N1, N2, N3, and REM. Each track is precisely tuned to specific frequencies (432 Hz, 528 Hz, 111 Hz) to foster beta (β), theta (θ), and delta (δ) brainwave activity, gently guiding listeners into a deeply relaxed state. This unique blend of compositional artistry and cutting-edge science offers a powerful tool for improving sleep quality and enhancing overall well-being.

“Sleep is a fundamental condition for survival, but quality sleep is vital for maintaining a high quality of life. It helps preserve energy and fosters creativity.

 

My research on this topic has been deeply personal, both as an individual and as a musician. I have spent the last decade researching, reading and experimenting with sound. For me, crafting music based on wave patterns has significantly improved my sleep quality, enabling me to navigate through physical and psychological challenges. I created my own blends, carefully refining them over time, which ultimately inspired me to design compositions specifically tailored to accompany the different stages of sleep.

 

These pieces have had a profoundly beneficial impact on my own well-being, which is why I’m delighted to share them with the public. My hope is that these works will not only support listeners in achieving restful sleep but also enhance their overall health and creativity, as they have done for me and still do these days.”

TRACK 1: N1 Sleep Stage
Light Sleep Schumann Resonance 432 Hz

This piece was designed to promote the relaxation essential for transitioning into the first stage of sleep. This is the transitional phase that occurs between wakefulness and sleep; drifting to sleep. From beta (β) to high theta (θ) waves, it helps calm the mind and create the ideal environment for sleep to begin.

TRACK 2: N2 Sleep Stage
Deep Relaxation 528 Hz

This piece is designed to accompany the phase of sleep when the body temperature drops, and the heart rate slows down. It fosters a sense of serenity, paving the way for the next stage, which is crucial for achieving quality sleep.

TRACK 3: Sleep Stage
Deep Sleep 111 Delta Hz

This piece is designed for the essential phase of sleep: deep sleep. It is the most crucial stage for energy regeneration. This stage is mostly characterized by delta (δ) brainwaves.

TRACK 4: Rapid Eye Movement Sleep Stage
Gateway 40 to REM

In this phase of sleep called REM (Rapid Eye Movement), the brain becomes active again. Gamma (γ) waves play a key role in memory restoration, completing the sleep cycle with balance and fulfilment.

Lower-range gamma-frequency (γ) rhythms, those around 40 cycles a second, or hertz (Hz), are particularly important for memory processes, and MIT’s research has shown that they are also associated with specific changes at the cellular and molecular level.

REM sleep is often referred to as paradoxical sleep because of this combination of high brain activity and lack of muscle tone. REM has been implicated in various aspects of learning and memory.
